March 25-April 22: E-Business Workshops, Adelaide

The Centre for Innovation Business & Manufacturing in conjunction with Aspect Computing Pty Ltd is offering an e-business education program. designed for owner /managers of small and medium sized business, and departmental managers within larger organisations. This two-part program is designed to give you the knowledge and tools to develop your own e-business solution and effectively compete in the global economy. The five 3-hour evening workshops are held weekly starting from 25th of March through to 22nd of April 2002.

Smartlink Forum 2002

Our annual forum this year will be held in Sydney on 29 October, with a focus on lean production. The venue is the Australian Technology Park at Eveleigh.

The forum will run from 8.30am to 2pm. The program includes:

Prof. Umit Bititci (University of Strathclyde, Scotland) speaking on international experience in measuring performance.

Dr Jon Hodson (Invetech) on the relevance of lean thinking to Australian manufacturers in the 21st century.

Narelle Kennedy (ABL) on new competitive manufacturing strategies.

Dr Farhad Shafaghi (Advanced Manufacturing Centre) on the benefits of collaborative activity.

Graham Eagles (Productivity Australia) with case studies of successful implementations of lean technique.

Tony Strasser (IMS) on how participation in international research cna benefit SMEs.

The forum will be followed by an optional workshop (from 2pm to 4pm, with registrations limited to 20) led by Umit Bititci, on performance measurement in the new business.
