Smartlink Calendar for 2005.27 Feb-2 March: IMLF Manufacturing Leaders' ConferenceThe IMLF manufacturing leaders' conference was held in Adelaide from 27 February to 2 March 2005. The main themes were Intelligent Design & Rapid Product Development; Adaptable and Reconfigurable Manufacturing Systems; Intelligent Materials; Supply Chain and Logistics; Innovation; and the Intelligent Workforce. The 16 major speakers included Jay Lee, a former Smartlink Fellow. Almost at the same time, the first Lean Enterprise Australia summit took in Melbourne. Dan Jones (co-author of “Lean Thinking”) and John Shook (co-author of the book on Value Stream Mapping) were in Australia for the two-day “Lean Transformation in Service and Manufacturing Sector.” March 9: Workshop on Strategy for Manufacturing in South AustraliaDTED invites you or a representative of your organisation to an industry consultation regarding this strategy, on 9 March 2005, at Adelaide Pavilion, corner of South Terrace and Peacock Road, Adelaide South Australia, from 8:00am until 10:30am. Details. March 10: Future thinking for leaders in science and technologyA free public forum was held on the 10th March 2005 at the Adelaide Convention Centre. This open forum on "Future Thinking for Leaders in Science and Technology" is primarily aimed at the biotechnology and ICT sectors.
