MANUFACTURING MANAGEMENT

Lean Leadership 2006

Events

Lean Leadership 2006 is the inaugural Kaizen Institute of Australia congress. It will be held in Adelaide, at the Entertainment Centre, on 30 May 2006, from 8.30am to 5pm.

The focus of the congress will be on achieving world class levels of performance through effective leadership and the adoption of Lean.

Australia welcomes Mr Masaaki Imai, known as the original “Lean Guru” and father of the global Continuous Improvement movement, for the inaugural Kaizen Congress. This is Mr Imai’s first appearance in Australia in nearly two decades and your opportunity to be part of this historic visit by one of the world’s foremost authorities on Lean and Continuous Improvement.

The Congress agenda features world-class speakers from both manufacturing and service industries supporting Mr Imai. They will speak on the importance of effective leadership, present case studies of highly successful global and local Lean implementations and explain how to achieve and sustain significant productivity improvement.

While Lean is derived from the Toyota Production System and recognised as the main reason for Toyota’s continued success globally over the past 50 years, it has been widely adopted across both the manufacturing and service industries to improve productivity and realise sustainable efficiencies. Lean and Kaizen/continuous improvement principles are applicable to all industries and functions, not just manufacturing and the shop floor.
