Mr Alistair Nolan is Project manager for the OECD Forum on
Entrepreneurship, and the OECD's Local Economic and Employment Development
(LEED) program. He was a co-organizer of the June 200 Bologna conference
for Ministers of SMEs. This was the first OECD Ministerial conference of
its kind, examining SME development. He co-authored the OECD background
papers and policy recommendations on industrial clusters and business
networks.
During his forthcoming visit to Australia, Mr Nolan will outline the
reasons for policy interest in clusters and enterprise networks, and the
effects that such agglomerations and collaborative initiatives can have on
firms and the economies they operate in. He will describe the spectrum of
clusters and networks strategies adopted across the OECD area.
He will be in Australia as a Smartlink Fellow during July, and also
taking part in the Manufacturing Prosperity Conference to be held in
Adelaide.
