Industrial Make or Buy Decisions This project developed decision support
tools for managers facing make or buy choices at the detailed part or process
level, rather than at the company strategic level. A framework of relevant
factors and a company project team approach were tested in collaborating
companies. The project was complete in January 2001 after three years research,
application and testing. Strategic Technology Management - Linking technology resources to
company objectives
Integrating technology, product and
commercial considerations is a key issue for companies for effective strategy
and planning in the business. This project developed practical tools and a
framework for supporting technology strategy and planning. The tools support the
rapid application of technology roadmapping, together with the development of a
tool catalogue for supporting technology management. This project ran from April
1998 - July 2001. PublicationsDeveloping a Make or Buy Strategy for Manufacturing Business, DR Probert, The Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1997.
